This was kind of insane, a clothes steamer had never in its life been de-scaled. As a result, the scale had built up inside the boiler and created such intense pressure that the boiling of the water popped the boiler entirely out of its housing! This meant that water was leadking, and then shorted the electronics and popped the thermal fuse.

I took out the boiler, replaced the thermal fuse, de-scaled the inside of the boiler chamber and reset the heating part of the boiler in with new silicone sealant into the housing. After a couple of days to make sure the sealant was fully set, it was reassembled and worked like new! The owner was given strict instructions to please please please descale regularly!!!!
